Here is STP California, demonstrating the "one-minute sales tax return". With STP you get signature-ready, printed sales tax forms that have been pre-approved by the California Board of Equalization. STP Forms can be filed via postal mail to the BOE as an alternative to electronic filing, or in combination with electronic filing.

We start by opening a new return reporting period. Most companies file single-location returns, but for this demonstration our sample company has five sales locations,

two suboutlett sales locations to appear on schedules A and C,
and three non-permanent, or non-suboutlet sales locations to appear on schedules A and B.

Enter total gross sales for our Livermore location.

Note our sales data entry screen has each section of the sales tax return giving you the ability to enter all deductions, credits and adjustments that can occur with California sales tax reporting.

Use Section A, line 9 auto-calc button to automatically calculate sales tax included in gross sales

For the remaining locations we will use the quicker, show All screen.

Enter sales for the Danville location.
Finally, enter sales for our non-suboutlet locations.
Colusa Williams, San Francisco and Contra Costa Richmond.

Click the government view button for a preview of our sales tax return and schedules.

Preview the BOE-401 sales tax return. Click schedule A for a preview. Click schedule B for a preview. And finally, preview schedule C.
All sales tax forms are cross-tabulated, guaranteed accurate and are formatted exactly like the official BOE forms.

Click the input view button to go back to the sales data entry screen.

Click penalty and interest button to finish this return.

Enter paid date and file date for STP to calculate penalty and interest for the return.

tax Professionals can click the signature line button and select preparer to appear in the paid preparer section of the return.

This return is now complete and is signature-ready.
Close the sales data entry screen. Click preview and print, Check off our forms And send them to the printer.

That took about one minute, but lets explore further to look at some additional STP features.

First, STP has a complete history of all your sales tax returns. STP automatically downloads tax rate changes, reporting rules and form changes from BOE servers and keeps track of all changes by year and by quarter.
